Partner platforms
FEAD works with in partnership with external platforms on various waste-related topics. A list of these different platforms is provided on this page.
ECODESIGN FORUM
The Group of experts on Ecodesign for Sustainable Products and Energy Labelling (‘the Ecodesign Forum’) assist the Commission in the conduct of its activities under Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 and Regulation (EU) 2017/1369. The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation(ESPR), which entered into force on 18 July 2024, is the cornerstone of the Commission’s approach to more environmentally sustainable and circular products.
Duration: 5 years
The objective
The Ecodesign forum assists the Commission in relation to the implementation of existing Union legislation, programmes and policies, in the preparation of delegated acts, in the preparation of legislative proposals and policy initiatives, and provides expertise to the Commission when preparing implementing measures.
FEAD’s involvement
As of January 2025, FEAD is now a member of the Ecodesign Forum.
BIP EUROPE
The BIP is an industrial partnership in which policy makers, industry and other stakeholders team up with the goal to support the achievement of the target of 35 billion cubic metres annual production and use of sustainable biomethane by 2030, and to create the preconditions for a further ramp-up of its potential towards 2050. The BIP is divided in 6 different Task forces.
Duration: Ongoing
The objective
Task Force 2 works to identify and scale up best practices, initiate creative solutions and overcome barriers to speed up investments in new biomethane projects across the value chain. As part of its work, the Task Force works to develop best practices on how to accelerate biomethane project development and investments and permitting procedures. The Task Force is also focused on exploring the emerging market for biogenic CO₂, assessing the use of biodegradable plastics in biomethane plants, investigating biomethane supply chain security, and compiling a report on digestate.
FEAD’s involvement
As of 2024, FEAD Secretary General, Paolo Campanella, is co-chair of Task force 2.
BBBB
Buy Better to Build Better is a coalition that brings together forward-thinking stakeholders from industry, civil society, and public authorities under a shared commitment to mainstream public procurement as a core lever in driving large-scale demand for green construction solutions, while maintaining European industry at the forefront of technological progress.
Duration: Ongoing
The objective
The EU’s 2025 Clean Industrial Deal identifies public procurement as a crucial tool to support competitiveness and decarbonisation of key industrial sectors, including construction. It must now become a reality. Procuring greener materials for infrastructural projects, schools, hospitals – such as concrete and steel – could own its own cut a quarter of the EU’s public construction-related emissions at little to no added cost. With 31% of the construction sector’s activities tied to public projects, contracting authorities have a key role to play in unlocking green public procurement’s full potential.
FEAD’s involvement
As of May 2025, FEAD joined the coalition as a member.

Close the Glass Loop
Launched in June 2020, ‘Close the Glass Loop’ is an industry partnership platform to increase the quantity and quality of recycled glass by establishing a material stewardship programme throughout the value chain that will result in more bottle-to-bottle recycling.
The European Platform brings together glass manufacturers, glass processors, food and beverage producers, extended producer responsibility schemes, and municipalities, which collectively represent all the players involved in the glass collection and recycling circular economy. Today, it brings together 16 partners and works in close cooperation with a network of 13 national platforms across Europe to develop and implement tailored solutions for glass collection which work in the local context.
Ongoing
The objective
Achieve a 90% glass packaging collection for recycling rate in the EU by 2030, so more recycled content can be used in a new production loop. The mission is to provide a platform that supports exchange of best practice between all the operators and professionals who are active in glass collection and recycling. All the value chain is involved: glass producers, brands & fillers, Extended Producer Responsibility organisations, glass recycling facilities, municipalities, as well as the hospitality sector.
FEAD’s involvement
As of September 2025, FEAD joined Close the Glass Loop as a partner.
