Hazards Out | Workshop 2
During the workshop we’ll explore 2 very interesting local examples of separate collection of hazardous waste from households with our expert speakers from Denmark and Luxemburg:
- Michael Dino Hansen, representing the municipal waste company in Odense, Denmark responsible for the hazardous waste from the citizens of Odense Municipality.
- Jeff Schmit, head of the SDK Academie, part of the SuperDrecksKëscht – an action of the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity with the municipalities, the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts and the Chamber of Commerce in the context of national sustainable resource management.
They will share their rich experience with municipal waste management and the specific challenges of household hazardous waste. Meet the speakers here.
In addition, we will discuss the challenges local authorities face in implementing the mandatory separate collection of HHW and understand the influence of existing local collection systems and socio-economic context. You will have the chance to share your experience and raise your questions and problems, while we collectively look for support tools for municipalities and waste management operators.
