Sleep circular
The Sleep Circular project is an initiative of FEAD and aims to address the low recycling rates of end-of-life mattresses and achieve a truly circular mattress lifecycle through cross-value chain collaboration. It is part of our Circular Economy Value Chain Partnerships.
Less than 20% of the end-of-life mattresses are currently recycled in Europe. This leaves one of the heaviest and voluminous waste streams ending in landfills and incinerators. However, discarded mattresses can be recycled and reintroduced in our economy as new products and thus save valuable resources and reduce waste. We would like to raise awareness on all mattress collection & recycling activities in Europe and provide a platform for collaboration, exchange of ideas, good practice examples, and joint actions across the whole mattress value chain.
Sleep Circular project aims to build a European circular value chain partnership for the collection and recycling of end-of-life mattresses and pave the way towards a common Action Plan to address the low recycling rates of end-of-life mattresses in Europe and achieve a truly circular mattress lifecycle.
