“Climate Target, Circular Economy: Implementation of EU Waste Legislation”

1 March 2023

FEAD, the European Waste Management Association would like to formally invite you to attend our upcoming dinner-debate on “Climate Target, Circular Economy: Implementation of EU Waste Legislation”, which will be held on 1 March 2023 at the Residence Palace, from 19:00 to 22:00.

The event, co-organised by four European associations, namely FEAD, EuRIC, CEWEP and MWE, will focus on “How Can We Make EU Waste Legislation More Effective in Practice”, and we believe that your presence and insights as a Member of the European Parliament would greatly benefit the discussion and add valuable perspectives to the conversation.

During this unique event, we will be discussing the importance of responsible implementation of waste legislation in achieving a circular economy and effective climate change mitigation. Despite its significance, political will is still lacking in many Member States. Join us as we explore the reasons behind this and discuss ways to overcome obstacles and fully realise the potential of the circular economy in creating jobs, protecting the environment, and mitigating climate change.

The agenda includes a keynote speech by event hostess Pernille Weiss (European Parliament, EPP), an insightful presentation by Aurel Ciobanu-Dordea, (European Commission, Director of Circular Economy), opinion statements by Alessandra Moretti (European Parliament, S&Ds) and Jan Huitema (European Parliament, Renew Europe), brief positions of the four associations, as well as an open debate.
