PFAS Polymers – EEA Briefing: On 29 April, a EEA briefing titled ‘PFAS polymers in focus: supporting Europe’s zero pollution, low-carbon and circular economy ambitions’ was published.
Clean Industrial State Aid Framework – Joint letter: On 29 April, FEAD, in collaboration with several NGOs, associations and companies (including European Environmental Bureau, Plastics Europe, TOMRA and Zero Waste Europe) published a joint letter which was sent to EU institutions, calling for explicit provisions for circularity in the Clean Industrial State Aid Framework. FEAD has also submitted an individual position paper to the new state aid framework consultation, with detailed recommendation to ensure the circular economy is well considered.Public Procurement own-initiative report: On 28 April, Members debated amendments to the own-initiative report on public procurement.
Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention – COP17: The seventeenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention (BC COP-17), the twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention (RC COP-12) and the twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention (SC COP-12) are being held back-to-back in Geneva from 28 April to 9 May 2025.
